I like 3/1 better. Starts off kind of slow, but I really dig the jazzy jam in the middle of the song. 3/2 to me actually is kind of aimless, at least that's what I got from it the last time I heard it. Could be completely different next time.

That said, I think the 3/2 St. Steven>Eleven completely blows away 3/1; The Eleven is one of the best of all time. The 3/1 Eleven is really unique, but way to short and kind of overrated imo.

thanks for your input. Have still yet to give this release the full analysis it deserves, but for w.e reason the 3/2 dark star was the first thing to stick out to me. I thought it was a lil too whacky in my early listenings.

Anyone know if these shows are on other releases. I know of the 2/27 That's it on So Many Roads but any others? I thought the 3/1 11 sounded far too familiar today but can't recall what I thought it was.

All four shows are presented in their entirety on Fillmore West '69: The Complete Recordings. But the 3-disc distillation Fillmore West 1969 has parts of each show (not all the best parts imo). Disc 2 has Dupree's Diamond Blues and Mountains of the Moon from 3/1. Disc three is all 3/2 - That's it for the Other One, Alligator>Caution, Feedback, Bid You Goodnight.

Good point WD,now that you mention it 3/1 does seem to get the most attention, while both versions are extraordinary.I can't say I have a preference, but 3/2 contains some very strong playing,Bob is really on that night, and even TC can be heard clearly, adding some nice touches throughout.
